Writing Prizes

Technical Communication offers prizes for students who demonstrate outstanding writing and presentation skills. Application deadlines are below.

The Steuber Prize for Excellence in Writing is open to all kinds of writing: expressive, informative, and persuasive. Winners will be announced at spring's Polygon Banquet. The Steuber Prize offers prizes of up to $5,000 for excellent work. The application deadline for the 2009-10 academic year is March 16, 2010. Students must be enrolled in the College of Engineering.

The Wunsch Materials Handling Prize rewards those who submit innovative papers on the topic of materials handling. Prizes of up to $1,000 are offered for papers on any topic that relates to materials handling, including robotic transport, micro-electronics manufacturing, automated assembly, and manipulation of materials in packaging. The application deadline for the 2009-10 academic year is March 1, 2010.
